Shadow Sage Fine Silver Pendant

This metal clay pendant was formed from a partial impression of a sage leaf. It was given a natural patina from egg - the sulfur reacting with the silver, giving it some purple-copper-blue color.

Silver Art Clay is made from silver reclaimed from photography and X-ray film, combined with an organic binder. It can be formed just like clay: rolled, stamped, coiled, joined, and is then dried. Then it is fired by kiln or flame and the organics burn out, leaving either fine or sterling silver depending upon the formula. It is versatile and fun to work!

***Please note that patina will be removed by silver cleaning products, and by friction, such as that from a polish cloth. So, to clean just rinse with a little water and air dry.
