One thing I love to do with clay is capture a natural leaf, this one, from a geranium growing in my mother's garden. Paired with a little deep green CZ and a vining bail, it is a natural beauty. Comes with an 18" sterling silver Korean style neck chain (not pictured).
Silver Art Clay is made from silver reclaimed from photography and X-ray film, combined with an organic binder. It can be formed just like clay: rolled, stamped, coiled, joined, and is then dried. Then it is fired by kiln or flame and the organics burn out, leaving either fine or sterling silver depending upon the formula. It is versatile and fun to work! This was made by layering silver on the back of the fresh leaf to capture the beautiful venous pattern. Once fired, the leaf is reduced to ash, leaving behind its imprint. The CZ was fired in place.
18" Korean style sterling silver neck chain included (not pictured).
