• Image of Hematite with Pyrite 14 Karat Gold Fill Wirewrapped Pendant

Hematite is a mineral form of iron oxide. It is found in hot springs, like Yellowstone, where it precipitates into layers at the bottom of ponds. Because it can have reddish streaks, it derives it’s name from the Greek aima, or blood. It can be magnetic, owing to it’s ferrous content. Pyrite is also known as "fool's gold" and it gives flecks of gold color to this stone.

Wrapped in 14 karat gold filled wire. 14 karat gold fill wire is durable, containing about 100 times more gold than gold plate. It is considered to be heirloom quality.
